Nowadays, both governments and other organizations use hierarchical management structure: in administration, business, and in the church. This hierarchy is used for several antagonistic goals: making strategic decisions, managing people, rewarding people and choosing the leaders. This is too much. This system forces individuals to gain success by reaching the top of the hierarchy and they will never stop focusing on getting as much power as possible. Unfortunately, the personality traits that are needed to rise in this hierarchy are not the same as those required for making proper decisions or managing, motivating and leading people. This hierarchical management model rooted in history and burned into the mind of the society. In order to change this management model we have to change the way people think. As far as changing is concerned, not the governance model, but people are the most important. The world would be a better place, if the right persons were put into leadership. We should focus on the people, how they are educated and how they are selected for a given task or position, and we need to find a management model, where people can do their best.

There is another management model, the Team Management, which is already used in large companies, but as far as I know, it is not named or recognized. The basic idea is that one person, the leader of the organization, cannot make decisions in all fields. The management tasks have to be divided and all these tasks shall be assigned to different teams of experts, who have the appropriate knowledge and experience for finding the best solution and making the proper decisions in each situation. This management model is efficient for companies but it is even better as a new government model.

The key point in this kind of management is the absolute absence of any hierarchy. Being a leader is just a temporary task in a team, leaders do not have power over the others and they do not control them, therefore promoting people cannot be used as a reward. A new rewarding system has to be implemented for motivating and evaluating the employees based on their knowledge, experience, abilities and on the work they have done for the organization.

The members of these management or government teams have to be carefully selected. The election systems used in democratic countries are not the best for this purpose. The way companies are recruiting the employees and leaders is much better. The members of the government shall be recruited using modern human resource methodology. It can be combined with some kind of election where people can recommend someone or override the decision of the HR team to remove someone from the government. The goal is to have the right person for all positions since people are the most efficient when they are doing a job best fitting to their knowledge, abilities, and career goals.

To make this new management system work, people have to change. For implementing the model, a new organization shall be created for adapting and developing the team management model and educating people at all over the world. The governance model, the basic law and the current political system of the countries can only be changed slowly with many compromises. On the other hand, the international organizations of these governments failed in solving the international conflicts and global challenges. What is currently missing is an international, worldwide organization of those, who want to live in a better world.

Let's create a new non-profit organization or foundation, which is independent of nations, countries, and governments. Its members would be people from all over the world who accept the basic values and rules of this community and live according to them. This organization shall start with science and education. The first steps of establishing the organization should be collecting the leading scientists, engineers, and teachers of the world, creating the best educational program and teaching materials, training teachers how to use them, and building schools for children and adults as well. The goal is to make people equal by giving the same chance for everybody to learn and develop their abilities. Applying the team management model and having a lot of highly educated people on board, this organization will have the power to solve the challenges of the world, creating spin-off companies for utilizing the new ideas, and providing consultation services for companies and governments to adopt the team management model, the education system and the laws of the organization.

Global Foundation for People and Education (GFPE) is the name used here for this organization. Some more details and ideas of the Team Management, the education and organization of the GFPE will be discussed in this blog. Feel free to read, and let's make it happen.
